About
Traci McHenry believes the strongest organizations are designed around the people they serve, and that operational excellence begins with listening to those closest to the work. That belief has shaped every role in her career — and it is the lens she brings to everything she builds.
Traci serves as Vice President of Platforms and Investments at HERA Investing, where she is part of the founding team building the firm's investment and operating platform. She brings her operational expertise to bear across deal evaluation, portfolio development, and the organizational infrastructure that defines how HERA creates lasting value for the communities it serves.
Her path to that work is not a traditional one. She began her career in 2008 as a radiation therapist in oncology care — delivering treatment at the meeting point of complex clinical technology and deeply personal human experience. Working directly with patients through some of the most difficult moments of their lives gave her something no classroom could: a foundational understanding of what healthcare is actually for, and what it costs the people who deliver it. It was here she first recognized the power of frontline insight — partnering with care teams to redesign workflows, reduce friction, and build cultures where those closest to the work had both the voice and the platform to drive meaningful improvement.
As her career evolved, she pursued healthcare data analytics to bridge operational knowledge with strategic decision-making, and earned an MBA in Healthcare Management to develop the business acumen required to lead complex organizations through growth and change. As Director of Business Operations for a multispecialty physician practice, she held responsibility for patient access, support services, compliance, and clinical operations across multiple specialties — leading governance development, program design, and facility expansions while remaining grounded in a conviction that has never wavered: that the strength of any organization is determined by its people, and that developing those people is the highest-leverage work a leader can do.
At HERA Investing, she brings that same operating philosophy to private equity — working to build organizations that are operationally sound, people-centered, and built to endure.
