Mel Davies is a healthcare executive, operator, entrepreneur, and investor with more than 25 years of experience building, transforming, and leading complex organizations across healthcare, clinical research, and private enterprise.
Throughout her career, she has worked at the intersection of strategy, operations, finance, technology, and organizational leadership, with a particular focus on strengthening independent healthcare organizations and developing the infrastructure required for sustainable growth. Her experience spans multispecialty physician practices, oncology, clinical research networks, value-based care, healthcare finance, and large-scale organizational transformation.
Prior to joining HERA Investing, Mel served in senior executive leadership roles within independent healthcare, most recently leading one of the Pacific Northwest's largest independent multispecialty physician organizations. Her work has included organizational growth and transformation, strategic partnerships, physician enterprise strategy, clinical research, financial and operational performance, technology and data strategy, and the development of new healthcare business models.
Today, Mel serves as Chief Executive Officer of HERA Investing, where she leads the development of the firm, its investment platform, and its portfolio strategy across healthcare, energy, real estate, and alternative businesses. She brings an operator's perspective to investing — looking beyond individual transactions to understand the systems, incentives, leadership, and infrastructure that ultimately determine whether an organization can endure.
Mel describes her work as that of an institution builder. She is particularly interested in businesses operating within complex or highly regulated systems where thoughtful capital, disciplined execution, and strong leadership can create meaningful long-term value.
